Women and Land: A Conversation

Saturday, October 25, 1-3pm
Open Studios at Art Farm

Friday, October 23, 5–7pm
women and land: a conversation

For the first time, Art Farm’s residency cohort is made up entirely of women. Artist Carmen Argote, artist and landscape designer Lily Kwong, farmer and educator Briana Mills-Walker, and farmer Stacey Carlberg arrive with very different histories and one shared thread, a deep and lived conversation with land.

Join us for a roundtable evening. Together they’ll explore what it means to be women in relationship with land, climate, and food systems, and with their bodies, their heritage, their work, and each other. The UN has named 2026 the International Year of the Woman Farmer, and we’ll hold that designation up to the light too, asking what it offers and what it leaves out.   Bring your own experience, thoughts, and questions for what will surely be a lively conversation!

Chef Liza will serve beverages and light bites. This event is free. Space in the Art Barn is limited, please RSVP by October 21. Parking is limited, please carpool when possible.

5pm - Doors open
5:30-6:30pm - Roundtable Conversation
